Amaravati, Jun 7 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday extended the COVID curfew in the entire state till June 20. However, the curfew time has been reduced by two hours, which will be applicable from 2 am to 6 am in the day after June 10. The Kovid curfew, which was first imposed on May 5, was expected to end on June 10, but Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy decided to extend it for 10 more days at a high-level review meeting on the pandemic situation. Amaravati, Jun 7 (PTI) The Andhra Pradesh government on Monday extended the COVID curfew in the entire state till June 20. However, the curfew time has been reduced by two hours, which will be applicable from 2 am to 6 am in the day after June 10.

The Kovid curfew, which was first imposed on May 5, was expected to end on June 10, but Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy decided to extend it for 10 more days at a high-level review meeting on the pandemic situation. In a release issued by the Chief Minister’s Office, it was said that all government offices will function from 8 am to 2 pm till June 20.

In Andhra Pradesh, there has been a significant decrease in the number of corona virus cases in the last two weeks and the infection rate has come down to 10 per cent now from 25 per cent in mid-May. The overcrowding of patients in hospitals has also reduced and more general and ICU beds are vacant. At the same time, the demand for oxygen has also come down from 700 tonnes per day to 400 tonnes.
