Gautam Budh Nagar district administration has become alert after the poisonous liquor incident in Aligarh, UP. A special campaign is being run by the Excise Department regarding spurious liquor. On one hand, action is being taken against those selling illegal liquor. At the same time, it is also being investigated whether the norms are being violated in the sale of liquor at the shops. Now wine shop operators will have to paste the number of officers along with the rate list.
District Excise Officer Rakesh Bahadur Singh said that along with domestic and foreign liquor shops, it will be mandatory for beer shop operators to put up a rate list. Apart from this, instructions have been given to the operators to write the number of the Excise Inspector of the concerned area. Operators will have to put up the number and rate list as soon as possible. Failure to do so will result in strict action against the wine shop operators. The Excise Inspector has also been instructed to inspect the shops in their respective areas.
Liquor shops are constantly being investigated
Intensive checking campaign is being conducted in the district to check the sale of illicit liquor and to ensure that the shops are sold as per the prescribed norms. DM Suhas LY says that the SDM has been instructed to investigate. The SDMs are investigating the liquor shops in their respective areas along with the Excise Department and the police. During inspection, stock registers, licenses etc. are being checked. Along with this, it is also being investigated whether the standards are not being ignored during the sale of liquor.

However, the district administration has taken a tough stand against the liquor mafia. With the arrest of liquor smugglers, their illegal properties are being demolished.
