203 new cases of Kovid-19 in Mizoram, 52 children also infected

After 203 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in Mizoram in a day, the number of infected in the state increased to 14,196. The official said that in the last 24 hours, about 3,214 samples were tested for Kovid-19 and the rate of samples coming infected is now 6.31 percent.

The official said that in the last 24 hours, about 3,214 samples were tested for Kovid-19 and the rate of samples coming infected is now 6.31 percent. He said that out of the new cases, 15 new cases were reported in Aizawl district, 24 in Lunglei district and 11 in Kolasib district. In the new case, 52 children have also been found infected.

Of the 203 people, four had recently traveled, 150 cases were reported in the order of identification of the people who came in contact with the infected and how the other 49 people got infected is being ascertained. He said that 3,370 people are currently undergoing treatment for corona virus infection in Mizoram and 10,769 people have become infection free.

So far 57 people have died here due to infection. The recovery rate of patients in the state is 75.86 percent. Meanwhile, State Immunization Officer Dr. L Laljawmi said that till Tuesday, 2,74,383 people had received the anti-Covid-19 vaccine in the state, out of which 52,535 people have been given the second dose.
